I don’t know much about Cancer Bats besides the fact that these Canadians have been around for about half a decade and have released 4(?) albums consisting of solid metallic hardcore. Like my new favorite metallic hardcore band Black Breath, they feature some sludge, thrash and punk elements pretty prominently as well (though truthfully, none of the muscle of old school Swedish death that Black Breath are so stoked on). And though I can’t promise to stay up on this genre, as doing so would require at least a couple more full-time writers, it is easy to say that the single and trailer below promise a solid record for fans of crossover genres. The band even sites Kyuss as a reference when promising the album will have plenty of groove. Dead Set On Living is due out in April of 2012 on Metal Blade, the band’s new home.

Dude, you rock for turning me on to Cancer Bats! I must own everything by them, now.
You should also be listening to Trap Them if you’re not already. That band rawks. Fellow Seattlites too.
