Sanguis Imperem: The Death Metal of Centurians

Imagine if Bolt Thrower or early Deicide sang about the military excursions of the Roman Empire and you’d have a good idea of what Sanguis Imperem is about. The is very brutish American death metal more concerned with streamrolling the listener than impressing him with their playing. Natives of the great warlord kingdom of KAHLEEPHONEYA, these lads have just released a video for “The Scourge of Men” and the result is a surprisingly high-budget cinematic sequence of an ancient battle, complete with a war elephant taking some gnarly throwing spears to the dome. I’d like to say that no animals were harmed during the making of this video but I never know with these bands. I may review this album in the near future as its bestial violence makes me all fuzzy inside.

Sanguis Imperem are amazing! Doesn’t get much better for solid Death Metal.
